In collaboration with the Pathos Project, Compassionate Care in Medicine (CCIM) is an extension that provides an outlet for future medical personnel to discuss compassion and personalism in medicine. Through exploring film series and coordinating a regular series of dialogues between student members and guest physicians, CCIM educates its members on pertinent issues in practical and personal patient care. CCIM also encourages volunteer work at local sites where members can practice service focused on the individuals they work with.
About the Club
Established in Spring of 2013, we are an undergraduate club on campus to help students become caring medical professionals. CCIM strives to educate its members on the compassionate, spiritual, and emotional side of medicine. We are an extension of the Pathos Project Undergraduate Program (PPUP) and work in collaboration with the Ruth M. Hillebrand Center for Compassionate Care in Medicine to bring doctors, nurses, therapists, caregivers, and other health professionals to our meetings to speak about compassionate care. We hope our members leave each meeting with a greater passion for patient-centered medicine.
